HB 478 moves to amend Title 49 of the O.C.G.A to refine the process for expungement from the child abuse registry based on the nature and circumstances of the crime as well as the risk that the abuser poses to the community. The legislation provides that when an investigator has found that abuse has occurred through preponderance of the evidence, a copy of the investigator’s report must be included the child abuse registry. Additionally, the accused child abuser must be given a notice of such report.
